Almost 20 years ago, a slight boy with round glasses and a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead became famous almost overnight: Harry Potter, the orphan with magical powers. Raised in the human world, he was told of his background by the giant Hagrid on his eleventh birthday: »You are a wizard, Harry«. And not just any wizard: He alone is said to have the ability to defeat the power of the dark magician Voldemort. Not only did J. K. Rowling’s successful novels cast a spell over an entire generation of readers worldwide; as an eight-part Hollywood blockbuster, they also made millions of hearts beat faster in the cinema.
The first part, »Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone« with live orchestra is returning to the Philharmonie. On a big screen in the concert hall, fans can follow Harry’s first adventurous school year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with its eerie corridors and moving staircases, and watch him grapple with the game of Quidditch, which is played on broomsticks.
