Videopremiere on June 18 at 8 PM: dringeblieben.de

In 1980, the artists Kit Galloway and Sherrie Rabinowitz connected two larger-than-life displays in New York and LA with a satellite feed. The resulting public communication sculpture – a »hole in space«, as it were – serves as inspiration for Diego Tortelli and his team as, in defiance of lockdown, they set out to develop a piece entirely online.

Six dancers, a performer, a videographer and a composer-drummer meet with Tortelli one-on-one via video chat and will assemble the performance’s pieces just a day before the premiere. Using all the possibilities of the online world to defeat the physical distance that currently determines our lives, they plan to celebrate the first live moment together in all its spontaneity and glory for the very first time.

Choreography: Diego Tortelli in collaboration with the dancers
Composition & drums: Federico Bigonzetti
Performer: Corey Scott-Gilbert
Dance: Guido Badalamenti, David Cahier, Fabio Calvisi, Giovanni Leone, Dominic Santia & Casia Vengoechea
Dramaturgy: Miria Wurm

Two of the dancers are a couple and two live together, so the distancing rules do not apply to them.

Supported by the Nationales Performance Netz – Stepping Out; sponsored by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of Hilfsprogramm Tanz of the Neustart Kultur initiative.  The project is funded by the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich, with the kind support of Tanztendenz München e. V.
