Timmy’s adventurous musical trip to Russia
For children from about 5 to 12 years
Duration: 50 minutes without interval
Instrumental line-up: flute, clarinet, horn, piano, oboe, bassoon, cello, percussion
With excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s »Nutcracker«, Mussorgsky’s »Pictures at an Exhibition« and Prokofiev’s »Peter and the Wolf«
Now Timmy is heading east, where the old musician Sergej takes him by the hand and tells him many interesting facts about the country, its people and their music. Timmy meets dancing nutcrackers and candy canes, jumping chicks still in their eggshells and a brave little bird who catches a big bad wolf. A child’s-eye view of a country that is as expansive as its culture varied; and an encounter with the music and people of Russia that will leave a lasting impression.
As musician-narrator and actor, Andreas Haas leads us through the semi-staged musical story together with the chamber ensemble of the Freies Landestheater Bayern in this third episode in the popular Timmy series.
