Greece 2018, 94 minutes, original language with English subtitles, direction & screenplay by Tassos Boulmetis
With Ieroklis Michaelidis, Stelios Mainas, Antonis Kafetzopoulos, Antonis Antoniou, Giannis Vouros, Vasiliki Troufakou, Taxiarchis Chanos
4 April 1968: 80,000 people cheer their team at the Kallimarmaro Stadium in Athens, millions more are glued to the radio. The basketball game between AEK Athens and Slavia Prague has just started. At the same moment, a girl in love dreams of her wedding day while her husband-to-be whoops at every Greek score. An older couple reminisces about the home they left behind. A young communist prisoner cheers out of his prison cell while wounds, old and new, are torn open in a betting shop.
With humour, congeniality and love, Tassos Boulmetis’ docufiction accompanies his protagonists through the legendary basketball finale. By the end of the night, Greek history will have changed forever.
After the film screening, there will be an opening ceremony in the Munich City Library in the Gasteig.
