Film screening with subsequent conversation between Sunnyi Melles and Peter Jungk on his latest book adaptation, concluding with an audience discussion and Q&A.

In his documentary film »Tracking Edith« (German title »Auf Ediths Spuren«), director Peter Stephan Jungk retraces the footsteps of the life and career of his great-aunt Edith Tudor-Hart. The film is based Jungk’s biography of his great aunt, published as »Die Dunkelkammern der Edith Tudor-Hart«. Born in Vienna in 1908 as Edith Suschitzky with Jewish roots, she had many jobs over the years: she was a Montessori kindergarten teacher, student of Bauhaus, communist and photographer. But – and this family secret only came to light later on – she was also a successful spy for the KGB, the Soviet secret service. The information she collected as an agent enabled Stalin, for example, to acquire the knowledge needed to build an atomic bomb.

Book, screenplay and director: Peter Jungk
