SEN 2019, 107 minutes, original language with English subtitles, directed by Mamadou Dia
FSK-rated 18 years and older

In a small town in northern Senegal, Tokara is about to wed his good-looking cousin Nafi. She is also looking forward to the wedding and their move to Dakar together, where she wants to study.

But Nafi’s father Tierno, a respected Muslim clergyman, is worried about both his daughter and his town. Returning from his travels, his older brother Ousmane – Nafi’s future father-in-law – has acquired some radical Islamist ideas. Now he doles out money to people and gains ever more supporters in his quest to become mayor. Inevitably, the two brothers get into a bitter conflict over what form Islam should take in their town.
