Musician and photographer Tobias Melle has been creating visuals to symphonic music for more than 25 years now. Translating the music into emotive image sequences, his visuals enrich the music we hear and create a stunning atmosphere. Taking his cue from the conductor’s interpretation, he provides the visual »voice« to the orchestra’s sound – live and in person.

The Pastoral Symphony in Images bridges the music’s romantic approach to nature into the present day based on the movements of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No 6. Using a wide variety of photographic and video techniques, he lends Beethoven’s »expression of feeling« a visual form. To achieve as far-reaching an environmental benefit as possible outside the concert hall, Melle cooperates with »Plant for the Planet«, which plants a tree against the climate crisis with each concert ticket sold.

Concert introduction at 6:45 PM.
