Cameron Carpenter’s huge, futuristic-looking »International Touring Organ« is more reminiscent of the control centre of a spaceship in a science fiction film. In many years’ work, the virtuoso inventor has developed a spectacular digital instrument that does not follow the limiting rules of classical organ building, but whose sound is just as powerful as the sound of the church instruments.
The unique organ is ideally suited to this singular artist: Cameron Carpenter has given the instrument a modern, contemporary look. Playing it, he inspires through his virtuosity and technical skills, which culminate in a highly musical event.
His main work at this performance is an adaptation of Mussorgsky’s »Pictures at an Exhibition« cycle.
