Tokyo in the early 90s: Mikami Shûhei is a teacher who believes that students must observe school rules and take responsibility; those who disobey shall be punished. Harassed by her classmates, Yûko, Mikami’s daughter commits arson. Mikami’s cry for help had gone unheard … The film is based on a collection of essays by secondary school teachers against the growing violence in Japanese schools.
