Kids for Classic Theater Kiel with the dancers of the Prague Festival Ballet presents »Swan Lake« in an entertaining, narrated performance.

An evil sorcerer turned beautiful, young princess Odette into a swan when she ventured too close to the shore of his lake. Near the lake there stands an old castle, and in this castle lives a beautiful queen with her son Siegfried. As prince Siegfried feels magically attracted to the beautiful swans in the lake, he is unaware that they are actually young maidens who have been turned into swans by an evil sorcerer, and who only return to human form for an hour at midnight. Prince Siegfried falls in love with Princess Odette and learns from her the secret of her transformation and that she can only be released from the spell through the love and loyalty of a man ...

So begins the beautiful fairy tale of Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky’s most beloved ballet classic. For many, Swan Lake has become synonymous with ballet, and its music is one of the most beautiful ballet scores ever written.

This production presents a very special, beautiful staging of this ballet classic for children aged 4 to 94 – created for children, but by no means childish! The lovingly staged performance with its challenging choreography is elegantly danced by the renowned Prague Festival Ballet. Colourful costumes and an imaginative stage set promise to enchant every child’s heart.

The charismatic actor Ortwin Spieler, known from television, film and theatre, takes the role of narrator, captivating young and old alike with catchy short poems full of wit, charm and love. The Prague Festival Ballet whisks its audience away into a wonderland of playfulness and romance, fairy tale and child’s dream!
