Comic Bar with Barbara Yelin and Nick Drnaso
| Bibliothek / Forum (Ebene 1.1)
This is a past event.
A young woman leaves her home in Chicago – and never comes back. Her boyfriend Teddy, mute since her disappearance, is taken in by a childhood friend, where he spends most of his time lying on the bed in his underwear. When a video of Sabrina’s murder turns up on the internet, the disturbed Teddy is drawn into a maelstrom of conspiracy theories – and with him the readers.
With stark lines, clear contours and solid colours, Nick Drnaso’s graphic novel »Sabrina«, celebrated by the international press, deals with a highly topical theme: »an extraordinary graphic novel,« it is »not a crime story« but rather »a perspicacious and chilling analysis of the nature of trust and truth and the erosion of both in the age of the internet – and especially, in the age of Trump« (Chris Ware for The Guardian). In 2018, »Sabrina« was the first graphic novel ever to be selected for the Man Booker Prize longlist.
