Musical comedy by Freie Landestheater Bayern with 2 singers and 3 musicians
Of marriage and other evils – popular melodies from the world of operetta, film music and the Viennese lied weave plot and music into an evening of exquisite entertainment. Look forward to unforgettable melodies and waltzes by Johann Strauss, Richard Heuberger, Carl Millöcker and Leo Fall; pieces from Franz Lehár’s »Paganini«, Emmerich Kálmán’s »Die Csárdásfürstin« (The Riviera Girl or The Gipsy Princess) and Paul Abraham’s »Viktoria und ihr Husar«; and last but not least wonderful songs and melodies by Robert Stolz and Franz Grothe. After this evening, you’re guaranteed to never forget a wedding anniversary again!
The plot: »Whether you marry or don’t marry, you will regret it,« as Socrates already knew. And it all started so romantically! Now, caught up in the worries and cares of everyday married life, the rusty would-be cavalier longs to escape this grey world to find a cheerful »Chambre Séparée«. But his wife has plans of her own. How very convenient is a masked ball in this situation. After all: what your partner doesn’t know won’t hurt them … or will it? And who on earth is »Mausi«? Come along and find out.
An ironic play about married life, this witty »marriage guide« will not only delight long-married couples.
