For some people, roasted almonds are an absolute must at Christmas time, for others it has to be hazelnuts – exactly three pieces, to be precise. And as any fairy tale buff will know, these nuts are the all-important ingredients of one of the world’s most enchanting fairytale films. Since its cinema premiere in 1973 in Czechoslovakia, »Tři oříšky pro Popelku« has been broadcast in more than 50 countries around the world, bringing a little fairytale magic into people’s homes in the festive season.
The most beautiful fairytale film of the 20th century with a live soundtrack
This winter, the beautiful Cinderella and her prince can once again be seen in a very special setting: for one afternoon only, the Philharmonic Hall in the Gasteig will be transformed into the setting of this magical love story. While the film is shown on a big screen, its soundtrack, by the Czech composer Karel Svoboda, will be played live by a symphony orchestra, immersing the audience into the magic of the ball at the Prince’s court. Look carefully, and you may even spot a glass slipper on one of the steps ...
