Music – World Music
Two musical heavyweights join forces on a tour of Germany: the Herbert Pixner Project meets the Berlin Symphony Orchestra.
The four full-blooded musicians of the Herbert Pixner Projekt from South Tyrol play to standing ovations again and again – even in famed concert halls like Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt and the Prinzregenten Theater in Munich. The members of the Herbert Pixner Projekt are: Manuel Randi on guitars, Heidi Pixner on harp, Werner Unterlechner on double bass and the multi-instrumentalist Herbert Pixner on the diatonic accordion and various wind instruments. The ensemble was founded by Merano-born Herbert Pixner in 2005 and has been conquering concert halls ever since.
The music of the quartet is a combination of new folk music, world music, jazz, blues, tango and elements of rock, taking their audiences on a very special kind of musical journey. For his albums, Pixner has won five »Gold Awards«. Now for the first time, the songs of the Herbert Pixner Projekt have been arranged for symphonic orchestra and will be accompanied by the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. One of the most renowned German orchestras, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, along with principal conductor Lior Shambadal, are entering their sixth decade of music-making. This evening promises to be an unparalleled sound spectacle!
