Film music played live to film footage
In their 2019 Movie Night, the Filmfoniker orchestra are celebrating not one but two film industry jubilees with suites specially arranged for the occasion: Director Joseph Vilsmaier celebrates his 80th birthday this year and film and pop music composer Christian Bruhn his 85th. The programme includes the films »Der Fall Collini«, »Der Junge muss an die frische Luft« and »Das Parfum« (»Perfume«) as well as songs from the soundtracks of »Harry Potter«, »Gladiator«, »Winnetou«, »The Thomas Crown Affair« and many more.
The truly unique Filmfoniker bestow an equally uniquely intimate and exhilarating experience on its audiences: The film scores of outstanding and successful German cinema films are arranged especially for the orchestra in the form of a short suite or medley. To accompany these arrangements, the footage of the films is edited into new films for the big screen to bring the film scores to life and turns every concert into a special audiovisual experience.
The Filmfoniker play under the baton of their conductor Ingo P. Stefans. They are supported by boys’ choir Münchner Knabenchor under the direction of Ralf Ludewig. Comedian Oliver Kalkofe will host the evening.
