Mona Asuka, piano
Munich Symphony Orchestra
Conductor: Julian Rachlin

Mona Asuka plays Beethoven

At the tender age of four, Mona Asuka already performed as »Münchner Kindl« at the Munich Residence; by now, she has won several piano awards. The congenial pianist is known for her exuberance, technical perfection and a special feel for the quiet nuances. She will demonstrate her skill with an all-Beethoven programme alongside the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Few artists, regardless of their profession, have left a legacy of this magnitude with their oeuvre as Beethoven. Both his Piano Concerto No 5 and his Symphony No 7 were written during the composer’s middle and most productive creative period. More than just being two of the most popular works of concert literature per se, they are regarded as revolutionary compositions that have influenced all that would follow in their respective genres. There will be a second chance to experience Mona Asuka in December, when she will return with a solo recital of piano works from the classical and romantic periods in the beautiful Cuvilliéstheater.
