The encounter between composer Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky and choreographer Marius Petipa was one of the most fruitful coincidences in the history of ballet. The magical »Swan Lake« story of the enchanted Princess Odette is one of the great, timeless classics of ballet. The story tells of Prince Siegfried, who goes on a hunt. As the prince takes aim, the most graceful of the swans throws itself into his way and turns into a beautiful woman before his very eyes: Odette, the queen of the swans, who sorcerer Rothbart turned into a swan with a curse and who can only be freed by the vow of eternal fidelity and true love. The prince promises to make this vow, but Rothbart gets in his way and the fight for true love begins.

The Saint Petersburg Classical Ballet of Andrey Batalov is a young, dynamic company that continues the tradition of Russian ballet. Directed by well-known choreographers and artists, the company comprises 50 professional dancers, who graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy and the most famous ballet schools in Russia and Ukraine. The stage design and costumes, but above all the grace and passion of the dancers never fail to impress. The repertoire of the Saint Petersburg Classical Ballet includes masterpieces of world choreography such as »Swan Lake«, »Nutcracker« and »Sleeping Beauty« by Tchaikovsky, »Chopiniane« and »Giselle« by A. Adam, and »Don Quixote« and »Paquita« by L. Minkus.
