Sir Antonio Pappano, one of today’s most sought-after conductors, is world-renowned for his charismatic leadership and inspiring performances in the symphonic and operatic repertoire. The music director of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to music. Sir Pappano was also made a Knight Grand Cross of Italy’s Order of Merit, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Rome and has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Philharmonic Society in London, the highest distinction of this prestigious institution.
