The prizewinners of the 2014 Stuttgart Carl Wendling Competition for Chamber Music, brothers Eduard and Alexander Sonderegger, have been performing together as the »Sonderegger Duo« for more than 15 years. Continuing the family’s music tradition, the two brothers have dedicated themselves to chamber music for violin and piano since their early childhood. The Duo’s repertoire comprises works from various periods: from early classical to modern music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

As chamber music partners, Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger received advice from a number of important musicians, such as Anke Dill, Gerhard Schulz, Christine Busch, Stefan Fehlandt, Péter Nagy, Shoshana Rudiakov, Florian Wiek, Claudio Bohorquez, Conradin Brotbek, Valentin Erben and Kirill Gerstein.

Notable performances by the duo include Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto with the »Sinfonietta Lentua« orchestra in the Lentua Hall in the city of Kuhmo, Finland, the chamber music evening in the Maison Heinrich Heine in Paris and several joint concert performances with the Murmansk Philharmonic Orchestra in Russia.
