Spiel den Gasteig!
Take Centre Stage at the Gasteig!
With »Spiel den Gasteig!« (Play the Gasteig), a familiar concept will return to the Gasteig in the summer of 2019: Fans of the street piano project »Play me, I’m yours« can, from July to September, take to the outdoor stage at the Celibidacheforum and show their stuff.
(Please note: Every Wednesday evening from 24 July, the stage will be used for the »Jazz Summer Nights« and will not, therefore, be accessible to the public.)
The Yamaha grand piano, once again designed by well-known Munich tape artist Felix Rodewaldt, invites everyone to let their creativity run free with coloured mirror reflections and to create music on the courtyard in front of the Gasteig. With »Spiel den Gasteig«, Isabel Melendez Alba, the initiator of the Munich »Play me, I’m yours« project, picks up on an old idea, giving the whole thing a new touch to inspire young and old, professionals and amateurs, to play and exchange music in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you want to play improvised jazz piano or classical music, we look forward to your performance!
From 30 September, the colourful »tape« grand piano will move into the foyer of the Kleiner Konzertsaal (Small Concert Hall), where the association »Musik mit Kindern München e. V.« will provide kindergartens, schools and young families with an introduction to classical music with free fairy tale concerts and introductory lessons. You can find further information here.
