Kim Noble I Campo LULLABY FOR SCAVENGERS (London)
The poetic English title LULLABY FOR SCAVENGERS conveys the essence of this wilful production from London multi-talent Kim Noble: his reflection on our world unites melancholy with radical humour. After KIM NOBLE WILL DIE and YOU’RE NOT ALONE, this is the third part of his performance series about loneliness and human longings. Accompanied by a fox and a dead speaking squirrel, he takes us on his journeys into office buildings at night, up into his attic and into the forest. In a collage consisting of video and live performances, he tells us about solitude, about farewells beyond individual species and the search for allies. How do we survive in this increasingly destroyed world? What advice do we give to the next generation for their future? And how do we deal with rodents in our attic? To be able to answer these questions, Kim Noble works as a cleaner, explains the world to a maggot and sends a vacuum cleaner bag into outer space.
The British multidisciplinary performance and video artist Kim Noble works with theatre, television, film, visual arts and comedy. He has won the Total Theatre Award, one of the UK’s most prestigious awards for performing arts. His work exposes the human condition in a humorous and provocative way: conceptions of death, sexuality, gender, and religion are lampooned with a dry sense of comedy and tragedy. He has been invited to perform at the Festival Theater der Welt in Mannheim, the Wiesbaden Biennale, and the Sommerfestival at Kampnagel in Hamburg, among others. He was a part of the successful experimental art comedy duo Noble and Silver, had several guest appearances in cult series and was a visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. Lately, in collaboration with other artists, he has developed WILD LIFE, a live radio show with adolescents.
