The sun rises over the Seine. The Bouquinistes go about setting up their stalls. French music drifts through the air ...
French pianist Henri Bonamy, who lives in Munich, invites you to a piano matinée with an entirely French-influenced programme on France’s national holiday. It encompasses a small part of the immense diversity of this unique musical landscape:
• From Jean-Philippe Rameau to own arrangements of Charles Trenet-Chansons
• through Claude Debussy and Francis Poulenc
• to Charles Valentin Alkan’s »Le Festin d’Esope« and Maurice Ravel’s »Scarbo«.
»By now, the Frenchman thrills audiences throughout the world with his unconventional interpretations«, says music critic Hagen Kunze. »Bonamy’s concert will be a celebration of emotions.« (Vera Romeu)
Wherever he performs, in Europe, in North and South America, in Asia: Henri Bonamy captivates his audiences with his virtuosity and expressive intensity. No wonder, then, that he has received prizes from juries both at home and abroad.
For Chopin’s anniversary in 2010, he took part in the television recording of France Télévisions’ complete Chopin oeuvre at the famous Salle Pleyel in Paris.
For many years now, he has been accompanying the violin virtuoso Julia Fischer at chamber concerts. New recordings can be heard at www.juliafischer.com/club.
On his CDs, he plays Debussy, Mussorgsky, Schubert and Brahms. His repertoire includes all stylistic epochs of German, French and Russian piano literature up to and including modern and contemporary music.
