At Short Notice! Live Concerts of the BRSO at the Gasteig
In response to the easing of corona restrictions, the BRSO is now including special concerts in its programme. Since performances in the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall are currently limited to an audience of 100 people, each concert will be played twice on each day, with one performance each day being reserved exclusively for subscribers.
Already Sold Out! Concerts with Franz Welser-Möst and Igor Levit
On 9 and 10 July, Franz Welser-Möst conducted Beethoven and Mozart live in the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall. Together with pianist and BRSO artist in residence Igor Levit, the Symphony Orchestra performed Ludwig van Beethoven’s Concerto for piano and orchestra No 2 in B-flat major, Op 19 as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No 38 in D major K 504 (»Prague Symphony«). Already Sold Out! Concerts with Sir Simon Rattle
On 19 and 20 July, Sir Simon Rattle will conduct the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall. The audience can expect a performance lasting about 60 minutes without intermission with the following programme: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: overture from »The Marriage of Figaro«; Gustav Mahler: Rückert-Lieder (Magdalena Kožená, mezzo-soprano); Paul Dukas: Fanfare pour précéder La Péri; Maurice Ravel: Ma mère l’Oye (complete ballet score).
Live Concert Broadcasts for Everyone
Each of the concerts will be broadcast live: On Friday, 10 July at 8 PM, the concert with Franz Welser-Möst will be broadcast via video live stream, on radio station BR Classics and on the BRSO Facebook page. The concert with Sir Simon Rattle will be broadcast on Monday, 20 July at 8 PM via video live stream on BR Classics.
