The Bavarian State Government’s pilot project to increase the number of visitors at cultural events is being extended. This means that the Philharmonic Hall in the Gasteig will, for the time being, provisionally be able to accommodate up to 500 visitors in designated seats until November 1st.

The extension of the pilot project to Munich’s largest concert hall, the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall, came just in time for the start of the season and will be extended for another two weeks. While initial results are being evaluated, the trial phase will continue until November 1st, as the Minister of Cultural Affairs Bernd Sibler announced in Munich: »During this time, we will continue the existing pilot scheme in order to gain further practical knowledge and experience – especially against the background of increasing numbers of infections. This will help us increase our knowledge, so that we can take responsible decisions in the future.« Further participants in the pilot project include the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg.

A comprehensive hygiene concept, developed by the Gasteig in cooperation with experts and tailored specifically to the Gasteig has been in place for some time. »We are keeping in close touch with the Munich Philharmonic and external organisers in order to implement our hygiene concept responsibly while observing all safety and hygiene measures. We want to honour the trust placed in us so that we can take further steps towards normality as soon as possible. Given the size of the Philharmonic Hall’s auditorium, an even higher number of people would be conceivable,« says Gasteig boss Max Wagner.

Thanks to the extension of the pilot project, we can increase the ticket contingent for concerts within this period in the Philharmonic Hall. Additional tickets for the orchestra’s concerts can be obtained in the Munich Philharmonic online ticket shop. In addition, you can register on waiting lists. Additional tickets are also available for the concerts of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gustavo Dudamel on October 23, 24 and 25.
