Concerts for up to 500 visitors now also in the Philharmonic Hall
The good news could not have come at a better time: on September 11, the Munich Philharmonic with its principal conductor Valery Gergiev and violinist Janine Jansen opened the 2020/2021 concert season. Following the cabinet’s decision, we were able to allocate additional tickets for this opening event as well as further concerts in the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall. In the online ticket shop of the Munich Philharmonic you can buy the additional tickets for the Munich Philharmonic’s concerts and you can also add your name to the waiting lists.
Gasteig boss Max Wagner welcomes this trial increase and sees it as an important step for cultural organisers, artists and audiences, especially as it coincides with the season’s start after the summer break. »Our hygiene concept is in place and we are keeping in close touch with the Munich Philharmonic and external organisers to implement it responsibly while observing all safety and hygiene measures. We want to honour the trust placed in us so that we can take further steps towards normality as soon as possible.«
A comprehensive hygiene concept, developed in cooperation with experts and tailored specifically to the Gasteig has been in place for some time. Given the size of the Philharmonic Hall’s auditorium, and with all necessary health and safety precautions in place, an even higher number of people would be conceivable: »Our concept would currently allow as many as 690 people. But for now, we are delighted that we can once again welcome up to 500 visitors to events at the Gasteig,« says Wagner.
Please note: Up-to-date information on all events in the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall and in our other function rooms and auditoriums can be found at gasteig.com/current. You can find out about the hygiene and safety regulations applicable to your visit here.
