Corona vaccination in the Gasteig for children, young people and their relatives AICHER GROUP

Update: From Wednesday, 12 January, not only children from 5 to 11 years of age, but also adolescents from 12 to 17 years of age and their parents or household members can get vaccinated at the Gasteig Children's and Youth Vaccination Centre.

The vaccination drive enters the next stage

The city of Munich is expanding its vaccination campaign. Corona vaccinations are now also available for children between the ages of five and eleven. The newly established Children’s vaccination centre at the Gasteig is run by the Aicher Ambulanz Union in cooperation with the Health Department of the City of Munich. Vaccinations are carried out with a specially dosed children’s vaccine from BioNTech. The opening times will initially be daily from 9 AM to 5:45 PM. Up to 800 vaccinations a day can be given.

A child-friendly setting

Health officer Beatrix Zurek says »At the Gasteig, we are providing a dedicated vaccination centre for children – ideal for families. The centre staff have already gained plenty of experience in the vaccination centre in Riem and in temporary vaccination centres. The doctors giving the vaccinations – most of them specialists in paediatrics and adolescent medicine – have been specially trained. The colourful vaccination booths feature various animal motifs, including, for example, a lion or a hedgehog booth. Small gifts, such as small packs of sweets also await the children. The child-friendly furnishings help make children feel at ease. The colourful images provide a distraction and help reduce anxiety. We have created a child-friendly environment in the Gasteig that will be familiar to both kids and parents from paediatric practices.«
