Current Corona Information

Current Corona Information Benedikt Feiten/GMG

A visit to live events in the Gasteig is currently possible without proof of testing. Visitors must wear an FFP2 mask. Gastronomy at the Gasteig is open again inside and outside. Please take into account the applicable hygiene regulations of the house during your visit.

Current Regulations

The Thirteenth Bavarian Infection Protection Measures Ordinance (in German language; valid until August 25) enables further incidence-dependent openings in private and public areas. If the incidence is below 50, visitors do not need proof of testing. Please wear a face mask at all times while you are in the Gasteig (children under 6 years of age are exempt). If you are attending an event, you must wear an FFP2 mask. More informations about the current situation offers muenchen.de. Please observe the generally applicable hygiene regulations when visiting the Gasteig.

Opening Times

The Gasteig is open again every day from 8 AM to 11 PM. From August 1st up to and including September 5th there will be no events in the halls of the Gasteig. The halls and foyers are not open to the public during this period. Access for visitors of Münchner Volkshochschule and University of Music and Performing Arts Munich is still possible.

Open again inside and outside: Gastronomy at the Gasteig

In the Glass Hall as well as in the outdoor area, the »Babà« invites you again to enjoy and linger Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM (1.8. to 5.9. from 11 AM to 2.30 PM). From Wednesday to Saturday from 5 PM to midnight, the pop-up project »Charlie Scout« is open on the generous terrace in front of the Gasteig. Please note: It is necessary to register and provide contact details. According to the currently valid contact restrictions, a maximum of 10 people from any number of households may sit at a table (vaccinated and recovered persons as well as children under the age of 14 do not count towards the total number of persons). Currently, the testing requirement and the obligation to book a table in advance do not apply when visiting restaurants in Munich.

Coronavirus Test Centre

The Gasteig has a coronavirus test centre for all Munich residents from 5 years of age upwards. Two test stations in the foyer of the Glass Hall (1st floor, to the right of the escalator) are open from 8 AM to 8 PM daily. Please note that you must book an appointment at www.covidzentrum.de before coming to be tested.
