Current opening hours of the Gasteig

The Munich City Library in the Gasteig and the Glass Hall (main entrance of the Gasteig) are open. However, all events until at least 14 June have been cancelled. You can find further information here.

The Glass Hall (main entrance to the Gasteig) is open from Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 8 PM
It will remain closed on Sunday and bank holiday.
Our visitor service is there for you at the following times.

For your visit to the Gasteig, we ask you to observe the following hygiene and safety regulations:
- While in the Gasteig, you are required to wear mouth and nose protection, such as a face mask (children under 6 years of age are exempt).
- Keep your distance: We have applied distance markings at the doors and in other waiting areas, which we ask you to observe.
- Please also observe the separate entrances and exits to the Glass Hall and library.

During its regular opening hours and under strict conditions, the Munich City Library in the Gasteig and the Children’s/Youth Library is open:
Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM
Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM

You will be able to lend and return media – longer stays and the use of workstations, seating, photocopiers and scanners will not be possible for the time being. All events in the Munich City Library up to and including 30 June have been cancelled. You can find further information on the Munich City Library’s website.

Events at the Münchner Volkshochschule will not resume until after 30 June 2020. Personal registration on site and personal advice in the faculties will also not be available for the duration. If the legal regulations then permit, the Münchner Volkshochschule will resume its course from 1 July 2020 and start its summer programme from 18 July 2020. Lectures will not resume until October with the start of the 2020 autumn/winter semester. For further up-to-date information on courses and programme changes, please visit the website of the Münchner Volkshochschule.

Due to the current situation, the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich (HMTM) has decided to extend the limitation of its event operations and will not be holding public events until after 30 June 2020. Practice facilities will be available for students. Further information will also be announced at www.musikhochschule-muenchen.de.

All events in the Gasteig till 14 June 2020 have been cancelled or postponed. For questions regarding events oder event tickets, please contact the respective organiser, who is always given in brackets at the end of the event description in our media, or the advance booking office where you purchased your ticket(s). The restaurant »gast« and the bistro »le copain« stay closed.

The Pixel is also temporary closed.

The Gasteig’s underground car park will be open Monday to Saturday from 7 AM.
