Digital Events from the Gasteig: Concerts, Dance, Beats and More
Behind the scenes, everyone at the Gasteig is working hard to provide culture buffs with digital events during the lockdown. To find out about these, click here. Some of our events are available on our Vimeo channel for you to watch any time.
A few recommendations from the Gasteig editorial team:
Alfonso Fernández Sánchez’s extraordinary dance project presents contemporary dance on different stages. Two dancers plus plenty of emotion, poetry and music – you can watch the dance premiere of »Gasteig moves: TELL ME – Chapter 1«, Chapter 2 about »Love« and Chapter 3 about »Reading« any time here. »TELL ME« will continue in 2021 with further chapters on various themes.
Participants of our Vigil project already know: the views from the roof of the Gasteig are breathtaking. The ISARFLUX Festival took the chance and streamed rooftop beats in front of the skyline and concerts out of the Gasteig halls. As usual powered by the Gasteig trainees. They've been busy to create a line-up that was well worth seeing and listening to: Elena Rud, DJ Taphir, Matija und R3MAX&HEADBEATS. You can still enjoy the event here – it's worth it!
The Munich City Library has plenty of digital offerings: As well as readings, talks and e-tutorials, available on its YouTube channel, a number of popular formats, such as the Sprachcafé Deutsch German Language Café and ENTER! Digital Education for Everybody are happening online. For a full list of the City Library’s digital offerings, click here (external link).
The online activities of the Münchner Volkshochschule adult education centre provide plenty of ways of alleviating lockdown boredom. Destinations include Australia and East Prussia as well as virtual museum visits – there’s bound to be something for everyone. www.mvhs.de
The Munich Philharmonic periodically broadcasts selected concerts by video stream on its own website mphil.de/stream. Watch the city’s premier orchestra with top-class conductors and soloists from the comfort of home!
