Reflect with Brahms and the Munich Philharmonic
Johannes Brahms composed »A German Requiem« primarily to comfort the living, with the aim of enthralling everyone who heard it. Although it uses words from the Holy Scriptures, the Requiem is non-liturgical. Conducted by Paavo Järvi and accompanied by the Philharmonic Choir, the Munich Philharmonic will perform Brahms’ moving work twice in the Isarphilharmonie – on Wednesday, 13 April and Thursday, 14 April. Hansjörg Albrecht will conduct the Munich Bach Choir, Bach Orchestra and Münchner Knabenchor in the Isarphilharmonie at 2 PM on Good Friday, 15 April. At 7 PM, Philippe Herreweghe will lead the Collegium Vocale Gent through the history of the Passion.

The Munich Symphony Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s monumental and climactic composition together with the Münchner Oratorienchor, Münchner Konzertchor and Münchner Brahms-Chor choirs on Easter Saturday (7:30 PM on 16 April) in the Isarphilharmonie.
