mit&ohne – the Munich Chamber Orchestra with and without conductor

Sunday, 20 March | 4 to 7 PM | Hall X | Gasteig HP8
These days, conductors not only lead orchestras; regarded as celebrities, they are also the focus of public attention. That was not always the case. For a long time, the concert master conducted rehearsals and performances from the first chair or the harpsichord. The Munich Chamber Orchestra (MKO) cultivates both traditions. The new format »mit&ohne«, conceived jointly by the MKO and the Münchner Volkshochschule adult education centre pursues the question of how these two approaches differ. The focus is not only on the result, i.e. the actual performance: the audience also attends the rehearsals to witness the processes in both constellations. Book your place now!
