You can now book the city library’s new MusikLab in HP8. Whether you need a place to practice in peace and quiet or want to play a session with friends: The MusikLab is the place for you. To book, just visit one of the service points in HP8 with your library card.

Jamming and singing in a library? It’s not just possible: we actually want you to. Because that’s exactly what the city library’s new MusikLab in HP8 is for. Here, you can practice or jam, either with your own instruments or those provided. Play solo, with others or supported by playalong tracks that accompany you as you play your part. The MusikLab’s current inventory of instruments comprises electric piano, silent guitar and ukulele.

How the MusikLab works

  • All you need in order to use the MusikLab is a valid library card.
  • The MusikLab is currently open during service hours: Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM.
  • You can book the lab for up to two hours per day.
  • Lab bookings are taken only for the current calendar week; either in person at HP8 (service points 1 and 2) or by telephone on +49 89 480983313.
  • When you book, you get a key chip, which is recorded on your library account.
  • Please note that music recordings are not yet possible.
